Not everyone likes eggs in their eggnog, especially raw eggs. But you can make a pretty decent egg-free version of eggnog using pudding as a thickener.
- 1 pkg instant vanilla pudding
- 1 1/2 quarts milk
- 2 1/2 tsp rum extract (or real rum)
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
First stir together the instant pudding mix and 2 cups of milk (which should be the same as the instructions). Let it chill in the fridge for 10 to 15 minutes, then mix in the rum and nutmeg. Whisk in the remaining milk and let chill until really cold before serving.
Plenty of liqueur in this recipe to keep everyone festive. With all that cream, it’s extremely decadent!
- 6 eggs, separated
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup Grand Marnier
- 1/2 cup rum
- 1/2 cup brandy
- 1 1/2 quarts milk
- 3 cups heavy cream
- Nutmeg
With a mixer, beat the egg yolks until they are pale and thick. Add in the sugar and various alcohols. Once combined, let it chill until cold. Then stir in milk and set aside. Whip cream until it is thick, and also beat the remaining egg whites until they are also nice and thick.
Fold both the whipped cream and egg whites until the cold milk mixture and let the whole thing chill until you are ready to serve. Dust the top of each glass with nutmeg when you do.

A light iced cappuccino with a chocolate and bright raspberry taste. Ok, it’s not a true cappuccino, but you could also make this recipe with espresso if you prefer.
- 1/2 oz chocolate syrup
- 1/2 oz raspberry syrup
- 1/2 cup strong coffee, chilled
- 1 cup milk
Pour the chocolate and raspberry syrups into the coffee and stir well, to dissolve the syrups. Mix in milk. Pour over ice cubes and serve. If you find that the syrups don’t blend in the cold coffee, try using hot coffee to start and then chill after mixing.
